Brake is smoking

So this pallet jacks brake is smoking after 10-15 seconds of use ive tried swapping the brake out and its still doing the same thing just curious what might be going on

Did you set it up with feeler gauge I cannot recall tolerance for sure, but it was somwhee between.3-.7? Also you need to check it from Three opposite points. If installation is physically ok, that means the brake control supply is bad, and it doesn't disengage while starting to move, you should hear with contactor engaging a distinct brake click.
