Battery Lights Not Illuminating

I replaced V force batteries with generic deep cycle batteries. Pallet jack is fully operational. However when I plug in to use the onboard batttey charger the battery charge status lights do not come on indicating it is not charging. Battery is currently showing BDI of 79.
