Crown WAV50-118:
Battery charging issue

Hey All,
I have a Crown Wav50-118. It has AGM batteries that were installed in January. The battery life is terrible according to the BDI. After charging the BDI shows a full charge, but it will drop down to 1 bar in less than an hour of light use. Then, once plugged back in, the charge indicator on the service panel will show fully charged in around 20 minutes. The individual batteries are all showing 6.4-6.5v so I believe that it is really charged. It seems like the BDI thinks it is draining power much faster than it really is. Any suggestions on what I should try? Complicating things I do not have a Curtis Handset for it. Thanks in advance for any help.

Hey
You need a Curtis handset for this. There is a Battery Rate option in Curtis. Crown writes: Adjustment range is 1 to 15 has , has been designed to work over all anticipated WAV duty cycles: 1=hardest duty, 15=lighest duty. If the battery voltage appears to run out prematurely, the battery rate setting should be increased by 7 to 15.
