Raymond DSS350:
Battery Charger Specs

Wondering if someone can tell me what the recommended and the minimum AH would be for the charger for this unit.
36V system and I do not need an overnight charge as I only use the lift about once a week. So could be a slow charge but do not want to damage the batteries

i have encountered this scenario many times. imo effects vary depending on usage. what you have to remember is your battery is not going to get fully charged through one charge cycle with an under rated charger despite many manufacturers claiming all that would happen is the charge cycle would be extended. i had one site i took over with under rated ah chargers, the trucks would overheat occasionally and have to rest, cooling fans were on the trucks along with holes cut into covers in an attempt to cool the trucks off better. after we replaced the chargers with ones that were matched to the batteries ah rating the fans were removed, battery shift life was increased and truck breakdowns decreased, they were running much cooler. i have also seen under rated chargers at sites with one truck they use an hour a week with a 10 year old battery working fine for the hour they need it for. will a smaller ah charger damage the battery? no, but it will decrease your batteries capacity over time. if this is your truck a battery hydrometer may be a good investment.

Can I use a smaller charger and just have it take longer ? or will that damage the batteries?
I have very limited power at the building and wondering if there is a way to use a smaller charger since I do not need an overnight charge.

Most chargers cover a fairly wide range of AH batteries. Your battery AH rating must fall within that range.

Do I need to match the AH rating exactly? Or can it be more? I think less is bad for the batteries correct?

It should say on your battery what the amp hour rating is. If it's not on the side then it is stamped into the lead strap that connects the cells together, usually the cell that the positive cable is connected to.
