Make certain the filter element you buy has a 10 micron filter rating vs a 25 or 40 micron rating. The main reason is to extend the life of the Tyrone hydraulic pump. The 10 micron filter filter out smaller particales but cost a bit more but less than a a pump.
Thanks for the information the year is great to know, as I suspected they had batery post wrong, as for the filter turns out to be a Wix 51760 but one end is block the one that I have is open at both ends, set up looks original who knows after 40yrs. The one you could get me is it open both ends 7 1/8" long x 3" dia. x 1" hole both ends as the bolt holding the filter body goes all the way throught. PS someone else had the same problem years ago on another site yesterdays tractors "wwwtractorshed.com " Allis
Chalmers discusion board forklift Thanks Bob
Your forklift truck was made in 1968. It should be negative ground. The part # for the hydraulic filter is 4906096. If you can't find one I can get it for you.
Thanks for the information on year of machine, as for the filter tried a few auto stores and hydrolic stores no match found in Napa, Wix, Fram, Fleetguard catalogues. Found a place on internet that sells books on C. D. and another reprints so maybe when they arrive I will have A.C. # and could be in business. Bob
If that truck has a "Positive" ground, I am thinking late 50's Some forklifts--farm/industrial tractors--cars and trucks--used that set up.
Unless you find a manual at a yard sale or someone who worked on that old of machine, finding literature might be a challenge. I have seen old manuals on web sites like ebay
Wix filter books have section in back that has pictures and a section with measurements to give a part number, take filter to a NAPA store or a WIX filter dealer, they can get one that will work.
