SKLAD Logistic fair

Russia, Moscow - 27-30 October 2008
For several years now, Russia's economy has been expanding at a rate of between six and seven percent per annum, with rates of 15 % or more being reported for the logistics sector.

As a consequence of the economic upswing, demand for advanced storage capacities and reliable transport systems is soaring. What is more, experts are pointing to a shortage of storage facilities and also saying that not enough experienced, reliable and IT-supported storage services are being offered.

The Russian logistics market is currently in the middle of a phase of radical upheaval. Besides close economic involvement with the Western European countries, there are also signs of changes in the logistic requirement profiles for production and trade. Logistics costs are becoming an increasingly crucial factor.

According to an industry expert, SKLAD is the leading logistics exhibition in Russia. It has been held annually ever since it was first launched in 1978.

Fact of the week
At the opening ceremony of the Sydney Harbour Bridge in 1932, marching bands were instructed to walk out of step as they crossed the bridge. This unusual directive was given as a precaution due to concerns about the bridge's structural integrity during its early use.
