TOKYO - (Dec. 17, 2012) The world's leading all-round smart/renewable energy trade show; World Smart Energy Week 2013 will be opening its doors from February 27 until March 1, 2013 at Tokyo Big Sight. Since Fukushima and the implementation of the new Feed-in-tariff, the Japanese renewable/smart energy market has been activated and attracting increasing attention from across the globe. As though to reflect Japan's market potential, the forecast figures for participants for World Smart Energy Week have risen from the 2012 show and is becoming increasingly international: 1,890 exhibitors (2012: 1,453) and 125,000 visitors (2012: 93,497) from 65 countries (2012: 60). The number of exhibitors has already exceeded the previous show and it is surely going to be a very lively and promising business platform for many industry professionals.
This year, 8 independent exhibitions and
275* comprehensive technical conference/seminar sessions (*expected) will be held, covering all aspects of renewable/smart energy.
Concurrent shows include: World's largest hydrogen and fuel cell exhibition - FC EXPO: FC EXPO will be the best place to conduct business and to catch up with industry topics; FCVs SOFC/PEM residential fuel cell systems etc. 260 exhibitors will gather from all over the globe including many major companies such as TOYOTA, NISSAN, HONDA, BALLAERD POWER SYSTEMS, and SYMBIOFCELL. This year, more finished products and materials are expected to be showcased, especially from the United States and Europe.
World's largest renewable battery exhibition - BATTERY JAPAN: Every year the size has been expanding and around 370 exhibitors are expected to participate. There will be more exhibits by battery and material manufacturers including major industry leaders such as Samsung SDI, GE, BYD and SAFT. Around 100 companies will be exhibiting for the first time and many exhibitors will be expanding their booth size. New to the show; German and China pavilion. Driven by new governmental policies, the power supply by smart/renewable energy is forecasted to expand and is evident from the trends in the following exhibitions:
New to World Smart Energy Week and Japan - WIND EXPO: A new show specialised in wind energy - WIND EXPO, will be launched with the support of Japan Wind Power Association. It will be the first exhibition of its kind in Japan, making it a great gateway for overseas wind turbine, system component, device manufacturers and other wind energy related professionals to start business in the ripening market. Despite the fact that WIND EXPO is a newly born exhibition, it has already grabbed the attention of many Japanese and overseas industry professionals and major companies such as Vestas, Siemens, ENERCON, Hitachi, and JWS have already confirmed their space. On the whole, 300 exhibitors are expected to participate. The leading country for wind energy, Denmark will be holding a national pavilion, reflecting their eagerness to invest in the Japanese/Asian-pacific wind market.
