Williams Machinery LP was named best forklift supplier and Leavitt Machinery as the best forklift operator trainer at the Cargo Logistics Canada awards of excellence during the two-day 2015 Cargo Logistics Canada conference.
Williams Machinery has four British Columbia facilities, including its Surrey headquarters and Prince George, Kelowna and Vernon branches. The dealership represents the Bobcat, Linde, Doosan, Clark, Sellick, Bendi, Drexel and Eoslift brands.
Including its Langley headquarters, Leavitt Machinery has nine sites in British Columbia, five in Alberta and two in Saskatchewan. In the United States, Leavitt Machinery has three locations in Washington State and one in Oregon. The firm represents the Aisle-Master, Cat, Combilift, Genie, Hoist, Hyundai, JLG, Jungheinrich, Manitou, Mariotti, Mitsubishi, SkyTrak, Taylor, Xtreme and Pettibone brands.
Awards were presented in 15 categories including safety, sustainability, supply chain woman of the year and best industry suppliers.
In addition to Williams and Leavitt, other industry vendor awards went to Redirack as best pallet racking supplier, East Penn Canada as best industrial battery supplier, Adecco Employment as best temporary labour supplier, C&D Logistics as best third-party logistics provider, Day & Ross as best road transport provider, Austral Asia Line as best maritime cargo provider, WestJet Cargo as best air cargo provider, CN Rail for best rail freight provider and UPS as the best freight forwarder.
CMHDS also recognised its outstanding member of the year, Hi-Cube Storage Products Ltd of Delta. Hi-Cube was highly supportive in helping the society raise funds for Canuck Place Children's Hospice during the 2014 charity golf tournament.
