MSG95EAC/742 with electronically controlled suspension

Grammer Inc will be exhibiting two new seats for medium-sized and large construction machines and a vibration dosimeter to help employers comply with the EU vibration directive at the CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2008 show.

The MSG95EAC/742, manufactured in Amberg, Germany, has an electronically controlled suspension which can reduce vibrations by up to 40% compared to low-frequency suspension seats.

The MSG95GL/741 produced in Amberg and Hudson, US has low-frequency air suspension with manual weight adjustment. Its lumbar support and integrated backrest extension help support the operator's back.

Both seats are available globally.

Forklift and construction equipment operators are exposed to vibrations on a daily basis. The European Union's vibration directive, 2002/44/EC, has defined vibration limits to protect the health and safety of workers.

Grammer will showcase its patented Grammer VibroControl vibration dosimeter at the show. When attached to a construction machine's driver seat, the device continuously measures the vibrations and alerts the driver if they reach critical levels.

When the two AAA batteries are fully charged, they power the dosimeter to last for at least 12 hours of operation.

Grammer spokeswoman Sandra Kirchberger says the dosimeter that can be used on forklift seats will be on sale in mid-2008.
