Unit Load Handling (ULH) of Friendswood, Texas, USA has signed distribution agreements with ATIB srl of Italy, Shulte-Henke Gmbh and Durwen Gmbh of Germany to distribute standard and custom designed forklift attachments in the USA. The products of these companies are manufactured for ULH and sold under the Unit Load Handling label. The products are customized for the US marketplace and some bring new features not seen before in the US.
ATIB manufactures a broad selection of standard clamps, carton clamps, positioners, rotators, push pulls and uprights with capacities ranging from under 2000 lb all the way up through the larger, pin-type lift trucks. Shulte-Henke products are specialized in very high performance, very durable attachments for the metals, foundry, forge, pulp and paper, concrete pipe, building materials, nuclear and stevedore industries, among others. Durwen specializes in pallet handling attachments of many varieties from sideshifters and fork positioners to the most innovative and most copied multi-pallet handlers available. Capacity ranges from these makers runs from under 2000 lb to over 120,000 lb. This array gives ULH the broadest offering of attachments available in the US from any supplier.
The ULH alliance with these major producers was made possible by the recent acquisition of Roncari srl by Cascade Corporation in October, 2003. ULH was then the US and North American dealer for Roncari. The buyers decision to exclude the brand from the US marketplace left a void for those customers looking hard for an alternative to Cascade. This void has been filled by the combination of three very strong product lines under the ULH banner.
Combining these three makers' products with ULH- brand integral carriages and with its fast delivery on Totall- brand clamps and products creates the only complete source of integrals, hang-on attachments and masts available to the US marketplace. "No other supplier can provide the complete package, the full line selection, as we can," stated ULH's President, Brian Scally. "Within our product range we can provide all kinds of mechanical and hydraulic attachments, from the small clamps and fork positioners up through large paper roll clamps, pulp bale handlers and into forging and foundry handlers, billet grabs, manipulators and ladle tippers. We can provide time-tested large - truck integrals such as sideshifts, fork positioners and swing carriages, and high capacity uprights down to smaller quad lifts and simplex masts. From dock to warehouse to furnace, we can supply any attachment our customers might require. And, we have the best engineering to provide any custom needs as well."
The ATIB product selection includes all the standard clamps for bales, drums, multi purpose applications, cartons and appliances as well as rotators and paper roll clamps and fork positioners. Durwen is a fork positioning specialist making positioners from two forks through eight forks for sixteen pallets. Shulte-Henke, producer of the Stabau brand, builds a complete line of smaller standard clamps and rotators but excels in high performance machinery for very tough, very brutal applications. They are the unrivaled leader in the foundry, forging and furnace handling attachments such as billet and ingot manipulators, furnace chargers, forge clamps, rotators and positioners. They are well known for heavy weight applications and clamps for the stevedore industry.
ULH plans to continue its parts stocking program to support these additions to its lineup.
