Global supply chain company Ozburn-Hessey Logistics has announced the winners of its 16th national Top Gun competition.
Regional training director David Claybrooke praised the "skill and poise" demonstrated by forklift operators from 16 regions across the US.
The champion was Danny Meade, from Granite City, Illinois. Runner-up was Terrence Alexander, from McDonough, Georgia, and third place winner was Scott Hammarlund, from Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.
"Our champion, Danny Meade, was truly impressive," Claybrooke says.
"Danny's flight to the semi-finals was cancelled due to weather, so he rented a car, drove five hours from St Louis, got right on a forklift and turned in a phenomenal performance."
Meade received USD1,000 and a leather bomber jacket.
