Entries have been open for the International Forklift Operator of the Year 2016 competition since 4th April 2016 and many global logistics companies have already received their entry packs. RTITB is encouraging employers to ensure they have entered their operators into the competition before the 1st July when the first stage of the contest closes or miss the chance to gain a valuable insight into their material handling equipment operations efficiency and safety. This competition aims to find the safest and most skilled forklift drivers from around the globe and reward their dedication to safe operation. The first phase is an online test which covers practical skills, underpinning knowledge, attitude, pre-use inspection knowledge and efficiency skills.
To take part, employers purchase entry codes for any number of their forklift operators. Drivers must complete the initial online test by the
1st July deadline.
For more information on how to enter, visit the International Forklift Operator of the Year website. The competition seeks to recognise and celebrate the hard work, talent and safe practices of the world's best counterbalance lift truck operators and for the 2016 competition
RTITB is offering a free tailored feedback report for every entrant. This detailed report lists the entrant's strengths and weaknesses, allowing employers the chance to target and improve training for the most positive impact and enabling drivers to see where they may need to improve their operating skills.
In addition, when the online testing closes, a benchmarking report will be available to measure each entrant's performance against other operators around the world.
The complimentary reports can be of particular benefit to employers in helping to make improvements to training programmes, and also greatly help reduce risk by identifying areas that require extra attention. The personalised feedback can pinpoint particular issues, helping employers to save money on potentially costly 'one-size-fits-all' training which may not be targeting the areas where improvement is needed most.
The competition also supports HR retention and development strategies by celebrating the achievements and talent of extraordinary operators; showcasing them on an international stage while they represent the company and brand.
After the online testing stage is complete, the 40 top scoring entrants will be invited to participate in live heats in front of an international audience at
IMHX in Birmingham in September 2016. The top 10 competitors will then compete in live challenges at the Grand Final which will take place on 11th November 2016.
