Lencrow Materials Handling released the new Bomaq B30MP all terrain forklift at the Hire and Rental show on the Gold Coast last week. The unit created a lot of interest with the design looking different to the other forklifts in its range. This unit boasts unique features such as 2600mm turning circle in both 4wd and 2wd mode and twin joy stick operation that is controlled by pilot pressure hydraulics. This along with the creature comforts of large open cabin and low entry height make this an ideal unit for the hire and rental industry.
The unit was designed in the south of Spain by Antonio Martínez, an engineer with a long association with the off road forklift industry. The unit was built with the mantra to remove all the things customers had complained about in previous all terrain forklifts. After three years, the
B30MP was borne at which time Ross Grassick from
Lencrow in Australia was looking for an alternative unit that ticked all the boxes. Ross who has hired all terrain units since the early 1980's knew what he was looking for and this unit met all the design and capabilities he was searching for.
Ross Grassick says "This is the first unit we have found that will work in confined spaces that both building and multi purpose sites require. This is truly the unit that will work in a warehouse if need and get out in the dirt when required. When we look for units that we will use in our hire operation we have three boxes to tick, first is ease of operation, second is quality components and sound manufacture, and third is ease of service. This unit covered all of these."
The unit is powered by the 400 series naturally aspirated Perkins diesel engine and uses the proven Linde hydrostatics. The smooth power torque provided by this combination gives an exceptional top speed of 24Km/h through the two speed transmission while in low range allows 35% gradient climbing full loaded.
Antonio decided to build the unit as a 3000kg unit, with the addition of attachments in many applications the traditional 2500kg units were too light and Bomaq foot print is the same as a large 2500kg unit.
When Antonio was asked about what is on the drawing board he says "we now have a B30Mp that is low profile and will clear 2000mm. We will also have a 5000kg model in September. We need to progress slowly as it is more important to me to offer high quality units that are proven."
