SpeedShield has just released the new "Real-Time 900" data/reporting system to the SSV3 and SSVM controllers. By utilizing a 900 MHz base station and a SpeedShield "communications board" mounted in the forklifts, impact incidences, prestart checklist faults, and use data is always up-to-date and available on your computer. You can add new drivers authorized to operate the forklift; set a trainee driver at 85% of standard speed for added protection for his first 30 days from the HR computer; check hours of usage on every forklift to maximize utilization and track maintenance schedules; and monitor an operator's impacts or driving habits.
Fleet Weigh- Pre-Start checklist is required. The paper system leads to false reporting or no reporting at all. Problems may go unnoticed leading to neglect or accidents. Fleet Weigh has a digital Pre-Start checklist that can be automatically downloaded and faults brought to the attention of the appropriate person. It reduces your exposure to damage or injuries!
- Drivers ID must be verified to start the forklift. OSHA mandates that operators must be trained on that style of forklift before they are allowed to operate it.
- Seatbelts must be fastened for the forklift to start and it will shut down the forklift if the seatbelt is opened for more than 45 seconds. This saves fuel as well as making your plant safer.
- Overloading forklifts increase chances of injury or damage. Fleet Weigh, with its load weigh system, can display the weight of the load on the display. If it is overloaded, it can be reported, as well as an alarm to let the driver know. This can prevent unsafe situations.
- Traveling too fast can also cause accidents and damage. With Fleet Weigh's speed sensor, the operator can see his travel speed. If he exceeds the recommended speed, an alarm will sound and a report is sent to appropriate people. Records of over-speed habits will show in the operator reports.
Fleet-Weigh SSVM system, with the 900 MHz communications, provides real-time data where it is needed, as well as alerting operators when an error is made in the forklift operation. This helps with OSHA compliance and reduces costs.
