Rich and interesting, the programme for SITL Europe 2012 is in place. An exhibition complete with new offerings, around one hundred conferences where professional visitors will once more find clear answers to their needs and questions. European Rail Freight Days, the Eco Transport & Logistics exhibition, RFID University, Innovation awards, exclusive surveys, essential meetings to address all logistics challenges.

With one and a half months to go, SITL Europe 2012 is almost completely sold out. "96 % of stands are occupied, an increase of over 10%. Within this, the number of new exhibitors has shown an even greater growth, increasing by 20%" says Laurent Noël, the Event Director.

This development touches on all five areas of expertise at the exhibition: Transport and Logistics Services, Regions and Infrastructures, Logistics Property, Handling and Warehouse Equipment, Information Technology and Systems, RFID. Also benefitting are the pavilions for E-commerce, River Transport Pavilion, the Teaching-Training- Recruitment Pavilion, Planning- Forecasting, Safety-Security and the SME Cub.

While including large global brands, the offering in transport supply and organisation also feature many small and medium sized enterprises." They are either exhibiting on their own stand or in those groupings that are present: Astre, Evolutrans, France Benne, France Lots, Tred Union etc. Others are in regional pavilions or those of professional federations"

Eight conference cycles

With a record number of over one hundred conferences and workshops "SITL Europe confirms its status as an event with top quality content". Two studies will be unveiled exclusively. First of all, at the inaugural conference, " Global Supply Chain Trends" carried out by PriceWaterhouseCoopers addressing the main trends in supply chain.

PWC is an SITL Europe 2012 knowledge partner . "Their experts in Transport and Logistics have created the programme for the International Transport and Logistics Forum with the help of a new thought leadership committee". The Committee is made up of federations, professional associations, and supply chain and logistics directors from large industrials, distributors and service providers.

Another innovation, the International Transport and Logistics Forum is organised in eight conference cycles each one featuring a plenary event, debates and thematic workshops. Five of the workshops are inspired by the five exhibition areas and in addition, the logistics property sector presents a conference organised in partnership with MIPIM. Furthermore, there are three transversal cycles dedicated to E-Commerce, International Supply Chain Management and Human Resource which features Recruitment workshops on Friday afternoon.

Parallel events

Coming from Eurogroup Consulting, the second survey launches the 3rd European Rail Freight Days. With the theme "Rail freight, a competitive mode for the future in Europe" it will provide viewpoints from shippers, operators and public bodies on the needs and evolutions of rail freight". This exclusive study will be followed by a conference programme over 2 days that has been created by a steering committee of top level experts: joining Eurogroup are AUTF, RFF, AFRA, UIC, SNCF Consulting and EIM.

On Tuesday 27 March, the RFID University will take place with a series of conferences and workshops highlighting practical results with the presentation of the RFID Awards by the Ecole de Commerce de Paris ESCP-EAP.

In the same hall and accessible with the SITL badge, the second edition of the Eco Transport & Logistics exhibition brings together the leaders in several disciplines: Transport materials and equipment, Handling and storage that is energy saving and low in emissions and noise, vehicle rental, sustainable construction materials, logistics buildings developers, transporters and logisticians, specialists in urban delivery, carbon auditing consultants, certification, environmental management, professional organisations etc. "It is a large offering in a specialised sector and we aim for completeness."

Innovations honoured

A driving element and essential factor in growth, logistics innovation remains one of the priorities of Europe 2012 with the presentation of the 12th Innovation Awards. The exhibition organisers have given an additional impulse to the event du salon with the presentation of the awards at the end of the inaugural conference. "Nine companies will be rewarded. Six Awards are for SITL where, for the first time, a new award for the Best Innovation in Handling and Warehouse Equipment will be presented. Three other trophies will reward innovations from the ECO Transport & Logistics exhibition ".

Reflecting the evolution of the market and its creative strength, an Innovation Gallery has been created at the centre of the exhibition where all the participating entries will be displayed.
