Nexbot automated guided vehicleUS-based automation and robotics specialist, Scott Technology has introduced Nexbot, an automated guided vehicle (AGV) designed for warehousing, manufacturing, logistics, and e-commerce applications.
Scott says that Nexbot, which features a modular approach to AGV architecture, is designed to make automation more accessible, cost-effective, and easier to deploy.
Its modular architecture allows businesses to configure key features – including Counterbalance Fork, Outrigger/Straddle Fork, Under-rigger Lift Deck, Conveyor Deck, and Tugger modules – to their specific materials handling needs.
In addition, the AGV is able to integrate with automation and enterprise systems, including Scott’s proprietary Maestro+ platform, to optimise workflows and enhance efficiency.
The AGV leverages Navitec’s navigation software for path tracking, using an environmental map of natural features and reflectors.
LiDAR-based positioning is included for accuracy, while area scanners are included to ensure safety, and a fleet coordination system prioritises traffic and prevents bottlenecks for multi-AGV operation.
"Traditional mobile equipment creates safety risks and downtime, while manual processes slow supply chains and drive-up costs,” says Mike Christman, CEO of Scott Technology.
“Nexbot solves these challenges with a modular, scalable design that enables faster deployment, minimises bottlenecks, and optimises operating costs – all while running 24/7.”
