Scan Global Logistics has acquired 55% of Macca Logistics of Mali, with offices in the ports of Dakar, Senegal and Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
The acquisition of Macca will provide SGL with a strong physical presence in Mali where SGL has for many years been the leading provider. To fully service the landlocked Mali, the acquisition also covers Macca's two offices in Abidjan and Dakar, Senegal, which serve as a corridor to the Malian market.
"Our companies have worked together in a close partnership for several years and we hold similar values and philosophies on providing our services and developing relationships," says Henrik Vind Kragh, head of department, charter & relief, ocean from Scan Global Logistics in Denmark. "Macca is an asset-based company, with its own trucks, low-beds, off-road trucks and cranes to fully service our mutual clients. This allows us to be close to the market and manage the cost as both trucking and forwarder company."
"I am very excited about this new development for Macca Logistics and I am convinced that it is the right step for us to grow even stronger within our segment together with Scan Global Logistics", says Aw Abdoulatif, managing director of Macca Logistics.
With headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark, Scan has enjoyed double-digit annual growth rates during the last decade. It has more than 1,300 employees at more than 90 offices in the Americas, Nordic countries and the Asia Pacific.
