Safety and training initiatives at CONEXPO-CON/AGG and IFPE News Story - 10 Feb 2011 ( #500 ) - Las Vegas, United States 1 min read CONEXPO-CON/AGG and IFPE 2011 attendees will have access to safety and training-focused events being held in conjunction with the tradeshows.At the Lift Safety Zone outdoor demonstration area, anyone working with and around cranes and other aerial lift equipment can receive expert advice on safe set-up and operation. Live machinery demonstrations and the latest simulator technology will also be featured.The Crane and Rigging Conference is a forum for safety personnel, fleet and facility managers and operators to discuss the real-world dynamics of working with equipment. In conjunction with the conference, a crane rodeo event will be held to promote education and safety and provide a hands-on operational experience. Show attendees can test their skills on mobile crane simulators and a Liebherr truck crane.In the AEM Construction Challenge, 24 student teams from the US and Canada will compete in the finals of the teen-oriented event. The program was designed to spur interest in construction careers and spotlight industry contributions to quality of life, like good roads and clean water. Lastly, the National Ready Mixed Concrete Association is holding the International Mixer Driver Championship. The event includes a challenge course for front and rear mixed trucks and a walk-around vehicle inspection event. CONEXPO-CON/AGG and the co-located IFPE will be held on 22-26 March at the Las Vegas Convention Centre. The shows focus on construction, construction materials and fluid power, power transmission and motor control technologies.
