Shane Dailey and Marco Solis at the Maude Cobb Convention Complex

Shane Dailey from Sam Dunn Enterprises was recently named the winner of the annual Gregg County Forklift Rodeo held at the Maude Cobb Convention Complex.

Second place went to Marco Solis from Sysco Foods, with Chep's James Shannon in third place.

Dailey was the runner-up last year, losing out to colleague Jerred Sparkman, who had a slight advantage because he designed the competition course.

According to the Longview Economic Development Corporation, the successful event attracted 24 drivers from seven companies.

Diana Velazquez, LEDCO vice president, says planning is already under way for next year's event, buoyed by the "overwhelming response from our local industries that are wanting to participate year after year".

The rodeo returned last year after a five-year hiatus.
