RAVAS-SafeLoad: an active load diagramEvery forklift truck has a load diagram that indicates what the safe lifting capacity is at the actual weight and load center position of the load on the forks. The forklift driver is supposed to use that information to lift loads safely and avoid tipping over.
In practice this is easier said than done: at the moment he lifts a load, the driver hardly ever knows the weight and load center point.
RAVAS-SafeLoad is designed to assist him. The system constantly monitors the moment forces from the load on the forks and acts like an active load diagram: it uses a LED bar and a buzzer to warn the driver in case of unsafe lifting.
