The robust
DP/GP40-55N range has been designed by
Cat® Lift Trucks with the input of customers around the world to continue offering maximum durability, greater ergonomics and performance for the hardest applications.
Following the styling of the recently updated
DP/GP15-35N, this range replaces the current
DP/GP40-50K introducing a new 5.5. tonnes capacity truck to match accurately customer's applications requirements.
In these 4.0-5.5 tonnes trucks, productivity has been taken to a maximum with industrial strength Diesel (Euro Stage IIIA compliant) and LPG engines (that comply with EPA regulations). Added to that, these trucks have proven technology components that make them powerful workhorses with a high up-time.
Performance is also enhanced by its compact design through all the range which increases manoeuvrability in space restricted areas.
The driving-experience is as important as the truck to keep the business running. That is why superior ergonomics features have been included such as the armrest and hydraulic fingertip control, full suspension seat (with swivel option) and handgrip in the back with a horn button (for jobs where the operator needs to drive backwards). All of them contribute to reduce back, arm and leg strain and fatigue on the driver.
This range comes with a new transmission and a new powertrain design for reinforced durability. The heavy duty cooling system features options to prevent overheating and radiator clogging. Something that is especially important in applications such as waste paper and Bricks & Blocks Industry.
Unscheduled maintenance time can be kept to a minimum with the standard long life LED lights on the whole range, the can-bus system and a new digital display. The display not only warns truck drivers if an unexpected fault occurs but also provides error codes to ensure an engineer brings the right parts with him, keeping repair times down.
With the introduction of the advanced version of the Presence Detection System (PDS+) safety is further improved. The PDS+ comes with an automatic park brake and a seat switch, that prevents the truck from moving and blocks the hydraulic system when the driver is not seated.
For the paper industry, for example where dust and dirt are a part of the environment, special option packages are offered that protect the truck preventing down-time and additional maintenance costs.
This range is also prepared to cover the needs of other applications offering an extended variety of high-visibility masts, attachments options and cabins, to fit the right truck in the right job.
The combination of the optional Oil Cooled Wet Disk Brakes (OCWDB) and Pro-Shift has numerous advantages that make these trucks easier to drive in short-shuttle or heavy braking applications protecting the investment and reducing maintenance costs. Pro-Shift also prevents high speed direction changes, providing protection against drive train damage.
Separately, the totally sealed OCWDB are a good solution for the aluminium industry among other with a dusty working environment. While the Pro-Shift, featuring a controlled roll-back and auto deceleration system, is beneficial for applications with work in ramps.
