Nexen launches rough-terrain models

Nexen has expanded its product portfolio with the addition of 2WD and 4WD rough-terrain machines. Designed to work in some of the toughest applications with capacities from 1,800 kg to 5,000 kg, these trucks provide superior performance in extreme conditions.
The 2WD 1,800 kg, 2,500 kg and 3,500 kg capacities feature a jaw-type 100% differential lock with a power shift transmission that provides ultimate traction during inclement weather conditions. They are powered by the proven Mitsubishi S4S engines. The 5,000kg model features the Deutz EU3B.
The compact range has been specifically designed to work where space is at a premium.
The 4WD models are equipped as standard with a fully tilting overhead guard to ensure easy access to major components for inspection and maintenance. Wide-view masts provide excellent visibility, improving work efficiency and allowing safe operation, whilst the fully isolated cabin reduces the machines' vibrations and driver fatigue with greater operator comfort.

Hoppecke Industrial Batteries has unveiled a new, low-maintenance lead-acid traction energy system that offers key performance benefits across a variety of heavy-duty applications.

Linde adds optical warning system

Linde has launched TruckSpot, a warning system that projects a red warning triangle onto the floor to show that an industrial truck is approaching.
The large projection of the Linde TruckSpot combines the proven advantages of the BlueSpot with an even stronger warning effect.
Using LED technology, the TruckSpot generates a 1.25 m bright warning symbol. This appears on the floor at a distance of about 4 m behind the vehicle, or, optionally, only when reversing. Pedestrians and other truck drivers can clearly see from the image of a triangle containing a forklift symbol that a vehicle is approaching - and instinctively move back.
"We wanted to develop a clear and self-explanatory warning symbol," says Michael Fuchs, product manager - retrofit solutions at Linde Material Handling.
As with the Linde BlueSpot, logistics staff are not distracted by annoying acoustic signals. "Our globally unique solution is also ideal for noisy working environments where employees could easily miss such audible alerts," he adds.
