Packsize, Fox IV win innovation awards News Story - 24 Jan 2013 ( #600 ) - Chicago, IL, United States 1 min read Companies from Utah and Pennsylvania won the first-ever ProMat Innovation Awards competition, according to MHI's 22 January announcement in Chicago.Judges selected the entry of Packsize International LLC of Salt Lake City, Utah as the winner in the Best New Product category.Packsize's first-generation iQ Fusion series of corrugated converting machines features a compact, intelligent design, imposing few management requirements and resolving inventory and shipping complexities.Judges chose the entry of Fox IV Technologies Inc of Export, Pennsylvania in the Best Existing Product category.The firm's TwinPrint System involves a family of printers and printer applicators with dual print heads to print both shipping information and a confidential packing slip on a single label.MHI announced six finalists on 14 January. More than 74 ProMat exhibitors submitted 78 innovations for the competition and showcased the entries in show floor booths.Other finalists with entries in the Best New Product category were the Champlain, New York-based North American Blickle Wheels & Casters USA branch of Blickle Räder +Rollen; conveyor accessory maker Engineered Lifting Systems of Elmira, Ontario, Canada; materials handling automation solutions provider Intelligrated Inc of Mason, Ohio; the Sterling Heights, Michigan-based Kuka Systems Corp North American subsidiary of robot-focused logistics solutions developer Kuka AG; and high-speed Perfect Pick materials handling solution maker Opex Corp of Moorestown, New Jersey.Other finalists in the Best Existing Product category were hand lift truck maker Bishamon Industries Corp of Latrobe, Pennsylvania; Farmington Hills, Michigan-based Daifuku Webb Holding Co of automatic guided vehicle and cart supplier Daifuku Co Ltd; the Grand Rapids, Michigan-based North American unit of materials handling solution provider Dematic Group Sàrl; lighting system provider Digital Lumens Inc of Boston, Massachusetts; and the Houston, Texas-based North American operation of Jungheinrich AG's venture with Mitsubishi Caterpillar Forklift America Inc.
