Record employment levels News Story - 8 Nov 2007 ( #335 ) - Australia 1 min read Jobs growth has hit record levels, new figures show.The Olivier Internet Job Index, which records the number of jobs advertised online, grew by 4.31% in October for a growth of 50.07% for the 12 months to October 31.Overall demand was driven by engineering and mining jobs, which increased by 11.65% in the month.The strong Australian dollar did not deter jobs growth in the hospitality and tourism sector - which was up 6.49% in October.Advertisements for builders and construction workers increased by 1.87% in the month.The multimedia, internet and graphics sector rose by 5.04% in October and ads for IT and telecommunications jobs rose by 2.29%.Queensland recorded the biggest growth of new job ads nationally - up by 6,000 - powered by trades and services.
