Telehandler manufacturer Terex Corp, of Westport, Connecticut, has received the Association of Equipment Manufacturers' (AEM) milestone member award for its 75-year membership.

AEM presented the annual awards to recognise member companies' support through long and continuous participation in the association.

Five other companies reached milestone status after achieving 25 years with AEM this year. They were:
* Ag Growth Industries LP, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
* Load Lifter Manufacturing Ltd, of Scarborough, Ontario, Canada
* MacDon Industries Ltd, of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
* Snap-tite Inc, of Union City, Pennsylvania, USA
* ZF Sales & Service North America LLC, of Vernon Hill, Illinois, USA

AEM assistant membership director Bobbi Kim said AEM's strength was a "direct result of the dedication and participation of member companies in association activities".

Terex chairman & CEO Ronald M DeFeo said:
"AEM is an organisation taking a leadership role in our industry. We are pleased to have been affiliated with AEM for over 75 years. AEM helps us keep abreast of what is going on in the industry. Their services are indispensable. We plan to be a supporter for 75 more years and more."

Since AEM was established in 1894, nearly 100 companies have been continuously active for 25 years and up to 100-plus years. AEM is a North American-based international trade group that serves the off-road equipment manufacturing industry.

Seek first to understand…then kick some butt Fork Talk - 16 Nov 2006 (#286) In these days of extreme political correctness, it is hard for trainers to define where the line is drawn between accommodating and offending. I recall a wonderful train-the-trainer program I was delivering in Kansas City, Missouri, and completely ruining it by letting slip a reference to the place of fire and brimstone where the Prince of Darkness dwells.
