Jiangxi's forklift

To meet customer demand, Jiangxi Campell Co Ltd has designed a special forklift used mostly by North American farmers.

Jiangxi sales manager David Luo said his company had sold up to 1,000 quad bikes with forks attached, first introduced to the market in August 2005.

"Lots of customers gave us suggestions to create the forklift. We searched the internet and found lots of information before designing our forklift."

The forklift has a 1,280mm wheelbase, an 18 litre fuel capacity and a load capacity of 2,500lbs (1,134kg) to 3,000lbs (1,361kg).

Nanchang City-based Jiangxi manufactures aviation parts, all-terrain vehicles, all-terrain vehicle accessories, dirt bikes and mini bikes. It is a branch of state-owned Hongdu Aviation Industrial Group, a Chinese military aircraft manufacturer.

Jiangxi, which only sells to overseas markets, names Scandinavia, North America and North Europe as its major customers. The quad bike forklifts were popular in northeast USA and west Canada, Luo said.
