JCB’s toy appeal is underway again

Equipment manufacturer JCB has launched its 2024 Christmas Toy Appeal which will see hundreds of children in the Staffordshire and Wrexham areas receive a little extra festive joy this year.

This will be the third year the appeal has been held with more than 2,000 gifts being distributed through 2022 and 2023.

Every JCB plant in the UK is taking part in the appeal with 15 collection points accepting gifts for children aged up to 17.

“The way JCB employees embrace this appeal every year is truly heartwarming, and it really does help disadvantaged youngsters enjoy the festive season,” JCB group HR director Max Jeffrey explains.

“Over the last two years, our appeal has proved to be an overwhelming success, with a total of more than 2,250 toys donated by our employees and the public at our UK sites.”

Strategic battery alliance drives research

Chinese motive power solutions provider RoyPow will integrate the technology of lithium-ion battery cell supplier Rept into its portfolio of products over the next three years under a new collaboration between the pair.

Under the agreement, the pair will also research new applications and technological applications and are also planning to establish an overseas battery manufacturing facility.

"Rept has always been a trusted partner for RoyPow, with outstanding product strength and stable delivery capabilities,” RoyPow general manager Jesse Zou says. “We look forward to deepening our partnership through this strategic collaboration, working together to drive industry growth."

The Board of Colorado’s Mesa County Commissioners has agreed to buy a Hyster-Yale pneumatic tyre forklift for USD107,834 for the county’s Pubic Works Traffic Division.

The forklift will be used to move the striping materials which are used for road line markings. Until now, the department has had to borrow a forklift used by another division of the county.

The new forklift will also act as a spare for use across the county as required.
