The US Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) will hold a product liability seminar at the Marriott Riverwalk, San Antonio, Texas, on April 6.

A mock trial presented by lawyers and based on a recent product liability jury trial will be the seminar's major feature.

The seminar, aimed at familiarising attendees with the civil trial process, will include discussion of product safety issues.

Issues covered include operator training, operator visibility, owner modification of the machine and manufacturer-offered standard versus optional safety equipment.

Attendees are expected to participate during the seminar through AEM's interactive audience response system.

Open to off-road equipment manufacturer personnel and company-designated service providers, the seminar will particularly interest manufacturers without a dedicated claims staff and product safety professionals involved in litigation.

The seminar follows AEM's annual product safety seminar, also at the Marriott Riverwalk, from April 3 to April 5. Those who attend both seminars will receive a registration discount. See the "education" section of the AEM website - www.aem.org.
