The American Logistics Aid Network (ALAN) has appealed to the US logistics community to provide tangible support to residents and businesses in North Carolina and parts of Florida following the impact and aftermath of Hurricane Helene.

ALAN executive director Kathy Fulton is blunt in her assessment of the current need.

“There is no sugar-coating how long and difficult the path to recovery will be,” she says. “In fact there’s so much to do that it’s difficult to know where to start.

"We understand just how fortunate we are to be part of an industry that can play such a meaningful role in delivering help and hope.”

ALAN has asked those moving people, resources and equipment into North Carolina to co-ordinate their plans through the North Carolina Business Operations Center by email.

Help is needed to deliver and distribute much-needed food, water, medical supplies, clothing and accommodation. Forklifts, pallets trucks and reachstackers are all needed as part of the relief effort.
