Bobcat forklifts rolled out in North America

Bobcat-branded forklifts are now available in North America in the wake of the rebrand of Doosan Industrial Vehicle and other Doosan entities.

As part of the company’s global rebrand, all products from the former Doosan Industrial Vehicle, Doosan Portable Power, Doosan Industrial Air and RYAN turf renovation are being rebranded as Bobcat. 

Doosan Bobcat chief executive Scott Park says selected dealerships in North America will stock Bobcat including internal combustion and pneumatic tyre forklifts, as well as electric counterbalance forklifts, narrow aisle forklifts, pallet trucks/stacker forklifts and warehouse vehicles. 

JCB chairman marks 60 year anniversary

JCB, the world’s third largest construction equipment manufacturer, has celebrated the 60th anniversary of a key employee, its chairman, Lord Anthony Bamford.

Lord Bamford, 78, was presented with a long service award by company chief executive officer Graeme Macdonald.

“It is hard to imagine that I have been here that long, but I really haven’t known anything else,” says Lord Bamford.

After completing an engineering apprenticeship in France, Lord Bamford first walked through the doors of the sole factory of his father’s company at 18 to start work on the shop floor.  

Now the company has 22 factories around the world employing more than 19,000 people.

“We were also making around 3,000 machines a year in 1964 and today we manufacture well over 100,000 every year,” Lord Bamford says. 

“JCB’s success is very much down to the whole team around the world and, while it’s nice to reflect on the achievements of the past, my focus is very much on what our team can achieve in the future.”

Lord Bamford is currently leading a GBP100 million (USD127 million) project to develop hydrogen combustion engines to power the JCB machines of the future.

Fairchild, IEWC donate forklift to food charity

Fairchild Equipment and IEWC have donated a Hyster forklift to Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin.

IEWC, which supplies wire, cable and wire management products, joined forces with Fairchild, a supplier of materials handling equipment, after IEWC chief information and digital officer Scot Stein led a volunteer experience at Feeding America.

During the volunteer day, the IEWC team noted a pressing need for a forklift to handle and distribute food donations efficiently. 

"When we witnessed the remarkable efforts of Feeding America firsthand and understood the logistical hurdles they overcome daily, we were inspired to lend a hand,” says Stein. 

“Joining forces with Fairchild Equipment to refurbish and gift a forklift felt like a natural step in supporting this heartfelt mission," Stein shared.

As well as the forklift, a collection of donated food items was also given to the charity.
