Güde's small parts warehouse will have 12,480 container storage locationsJungheinrich will automate a small parts warehouse for Güde GmbH, a German company that manufactures spring washers, bent wire parts and screw and shaft locking devices.
The warehouse will have two 40 m long and 7.3 m high aisles, with space for 12,480 containers with a maximum capacity of 50 kg.
The containers will be stored double deep to maximise storage capacity.
The miniload will be controlled by the Jungheinrich Warehouse Control System (WCS), which can store and retrieve up to 330 containers an hour.
Jungheinrich says the system can be extended by a third aisle without affecting ongoing operations, if required.
The aisles will be operated by two Jungheinrich STC storage and retrieval machines, which have a top speed of 6 m per second.
Güde managing director Lutz Güde says his company previously used manual industrial trucks and racking systems.
"In order to meet the increased challenges facing our company, we are delighted to have found the ideal partner in Jungheinrich to automate our small parts storage in our new building in Plettenberg," Güde says.
