There has been a long silence since we reported on Toyota halting production of certain ICE forklifts in the US.
This week, the plot thickens, with the head office of the world's largest forklift manufacturer confirming it has halted shipments in Japan of a number of ICE models.
The company is investigating potential emissions violations and falsifying emissions reports in Japan.
Besides halting deliveries of new forklifts, Toyota has also recalled thousands of forklifts already in the market.
And, for good measure, the senior executives have taken hefty pay cuts by way of apology to stakeholders.
After the protracted Volkswagen 'emissionsgate' debacle, one has to wonder if this is the end of Toyota's 'issues', or if there's still more to come.
