There are some milestones reported in this week's news. Firstly, Action Lift is marking 35 years of doing business in the materials handling industry in northeastern Pennsylvania.
Across the ditch, B&B Attachments this month celebrates its 40th anniversary. It has certainly come a long way from the attachment company founded by George and Irene Bell, with a solid reputation for its quality forklift attachments, masts and ancillary systems.
On a more sombre note, our sympathies go out to the family and friends of Jim Brown, one of the founding members of the AITT.
The association says Jim, who passed away recently, was dedicated to ensuring high standards for operator training in the UK and will be remembered for his efforts to rally the industry behind the creation of the Association of Industry Truck Trainers, as it was called in 1985.
