This week's newsletter includes the second part of our special feature on safety. In particular, we focus on a number of different solutions addressing some of the risks associated with materials handling.
But we're reminded that safety is much more than the sum of the parts. While access control or seatbelts may improve aspects of forklift safety, the bigger picture involves awareness of the importance of training, equipment maintenance, warehouse design, operational monitoring and, importantly, separating pedestrians and equipment.
The solutions we report on are only part of the approach - and it's vital that we don't rely on individual safety tools. We need to keep our eye on the overall operation.
Let's be careful out there ...
