It is with great sadness that we pay our respects to the late Howard N. Bernstein, who passed away last month aged 92.
Bernstein, founder and former chairman of the Atlas Companies, was laid to rest on May 22 in Chicago, Illinois.
He is remembered for the integrity he brought to Atlas and for his role as president of the Material Handling Equipment Distributors Association and ongoing support for that organisation.
Bernstein's name will live on through the Howard Bernstein industrial distribution scholarship that he established with a donation of USD150,000. The scholarship was an attempt to help promote the materials handling industry to young people.
"We have to attract young, bright minds into the industry that has been so great to me," he said, when launching it in 2011. "We need to get young people involved with materials handling because it's such an important industry."
Great sentiments from someone recognised by his peers as a great man.

I know I can count on them. They give valuable suggestions on the campaign planning, and to publish content is as easy as abc, as they take care of the material layout and check links. This is a great support.
