Even though the forklift industry is dominated by big-name global players, it remains a people industry, and individuals continue to make a difference. This was brought home by another obituary in this week's newsletter. Recently, a number of significant dealers have passed away, and each leaves an impressive legacy of achievement, personal commitment, friendships and influence. We continue to be amazed at how a single individual can touch many lives and leave a personal stamp on what might otherwise be an anonymous business. It all goes to show that despite the influence of the mega-corporations, a handshake and personal call still mean so much - sometimes decades after the initial contact.
