Sunbelt UK has acquired Media Access Solutions to expand its capabilities for the film and TV market.

According to a Sunbelt LinkedIn post, “operating on a national level, from Leighton Buzzard, Shepperton and Rotherham, Media Access Solutions will support us in providing access equipment to the industry. 

“As well as being a specialist powered access service provider, they will now be able to provide their customers with the full Sunbelt Rentals range of equipment including telehandlers, accommodation, welfare units, tower lights, fencing, barriers, battery storage power solutions and much more.
“We welcome Media Access Solutions into the Sunbelt Rentals family and look forward to bringing their expertise to our customers,” the statement notes.

MAS is a specialist equipment hirer for the media and film industries, with depots close to production facilities at Pinewood, Shepperton, Elstree, Longcross, 3 Mills, Bottleyard Bristol, Media City Manchester, BBC Glasgow and ITV Leeds.

“We recognise that media crew need a contact 24/7 during production and someone with experience of TV/Film productions, this is how and why MAS are successful. Our scissor lifts and cherry pickers are in black so ideal for TV & Film sets on location,” the company proclaims on its website. 

MAS credits include James Bond movies, Star Wars, BBC’s Silent Witness, The Crown for Netflix and Paddington Bear.

Sunbelt UK boasts over 200 depots, more than 30,000 customers and a fleet of over 1,800 commercial vehicles.

It is understood MAS owner Tim Kendall will stay on after the change of ownership.
