AmeriGas Propane has acquired the Miami operations of South Florida Lift Gas.

South Florida Lift Gas serves primarily forklift cylinder exchange customers in Palm Beach, Broward and Miami Dade Counties. These commercial customers will now be serviced from AmeriGas’ Medley, Florida location.

“This modest but important acquisition aligns well with our existing business and will expand our presence and scope in the growing Florida market,” says AmeriGas president Paul M. Ladner. “AmeriGas’ well-established supply, logistics and distribution network, coupled with South Florida Lift Gas’ expertise in forklift cylinder exchange, will offer customers an enhanced experience and provide AmeriGas with the opportunity to expand our capabilities in our motorfuel business.

“I would like to thank the leaders of South Florida Lift Gas and the brokerage firm Blue Peak Resources for their cooperation throughout this transaction. On behalf of the AmeriGas team in Medley, we are thrilled to welcome both customers and employees of South Florida Lift Gas to our company.”

John Armentano, partner, Blue Peak Resources, says the acquisition provides an excellent opportunity for AmeriGas to continue its growth in South Florida. “It is comforting for the team at South Florida Lift Gas to know their customers will continue to receive the high level of service they have experienced and are accustomed to with SFLG,” he adds.

AmeriGas claims to be the largest retail propane marketer in the United States, with 1.4 million customers in all 50 states. It is part of UGI Corporation, a distributor and marketer of energy products and services
