Carlsberg's new SMV 4531 CC5

Konecranes has produced a custom reachstacker for Danish beer company Carlsberg.

The new reachstacker is a Konecranes SMV 4531 CC5 which has been adapted to handle 50 T instead of the standard 45 T.

The machine is now operating at the brewery in Fredericia in southeastern Jutland, Denmark, having replaced an older model to improve efficiency.

Established in 1847, Carlsberg is one of the world's largest beer producers, with 75 breweries in 33 countries and over 40,000 employees. The Fredericia plant handles beer, ciders and a steadily increasing selection of non-alcoholic beverages.

"In our factory environment, we have very particular needs. With this new delivery, we were impressed that Konecranes could again offer us whatever tailoring we required," says Sebastian Sigvaldason, warehouse director at Carlsberg Western Europe.

Carlsberg has chosen a wide range of options, including special twistlocks to ensure secure loads, a truck and spreader equipped with Lincoln central greasing to simplify maintenance, plus a reverse camera and three fire extinguishers for heightened safety.
