Thanks for playing everyone! So the answer to
our forklift challenge is in order from oldest to newest drumroll.....
The oldest but still lovely in our eyes, the Hyster VT75 from 1942. |
Forklift 'D' in our challenge was in fact the oldest, a fact that will surprise everyone who participated. This lovely specimen is a Hyster VT75 1942. Capacity 7500 lbs, Engine Hercules 4 cyl 41 hp. At the time it was sent into our 'forklift museum' photo gallery is was still in working order.

This fetching beauty is a rebuilt Steinbock DGF2/300 from 1956. |
What a beauty! the second oldest in our challenge was 'C'. Many thought this forklift was the oldest. This is a Steinbock DGF2/300, year of construction 1956.
The gorgeous forklift was rebuilt by Sławomir Sawitzki,
SAGO Forklifts Poland. Great job!
Behold, a 'Historical' JUNGHEINRICH Reachtruck, dated 1962. |
Next up is forklift 'B' in the challenge, a 'Historical' JUNGHEINRICH Reach Truck, RETRAK Typ ESM10G95-525DZ, Year 1962. 50 years young and still in use at the time this photo was supplied. A few of our 'punters' recognised that this Reach Truck was the second newest.

This sprightly young thing is a Hyster P-80A Forklift from 1978. |
The newest forklift in our challenge, we called this youngster 'A'. It's a 1978 Hyster P-80A Forklift, app. 8500lb capacity, 4 cylinder gas. At the time of receiving this photo it had been in 23 yrs of service with current owner, who stated at the time: 'It's a great cold weather workhorse that gets worked to capacity. We are really impressed with it. It is fun to operate.'
