Johannes Menzel recently started his new CLARK Europe role as regional sales manager for Spain. He shares some thoughts with Forkliftaction News
: Prior to this promotion, what has been your biggest achievement?
: My last big achievement was the creation of a new cross-departmental product catalogue for our centennial event two years ago. Having the help of the right people was the key for the implementation.
: What excites you most about the materials handling industry?
: The most exciting part for me in the materials handling industry is the discussion and exchange of new thoughts with other professionals.
: What is the most significant change you have seen in the industry in your time?
: For me, the improvement of safety and comfort for the operator is one of the most important changes of recent years. Another significant change that I really like is that more women continue to join the industry.
What is the biggest opportunity that you see in your new role?
: The history of CLARK Material Handling is unique in the forklift industry. From my point of view, CLARK Material Handling is a brand with endless possibilities. I see my greatest challenge in repositioning CLARK in the Iberian market and making us a serious competitor - just as it was before my generation.

I am an Ironman finisher (2016, Calella-Barcelona). I will never forget the last few metres before the finish line. The goal was reached. After 3.8 kilometres in the water, six hours of cycling over 180 kilometres and an exhausting four hours marathon. After 226 kilometres, even in those seconds, the last months of hard work had paid off. To dream of something and set goals is important to me. It does not matter whether it is a matter of sporting, professional or private goals.
