Real Telematics is thriving within the Material Handling industry in South Africa. Although Real Telematics has a bouquet of other Telematics offerings not related to Fleet Management, we find that our FMX Forklift Management System is increasingly in demand. We started off with an exclusive supply agreement to just one forklift agent in 2010 and now supply almost all forklift agents in South Africa today. We also supply multiple smaller Dealers and have many direct customers in our fold, representing thousands of forklifts across the country, all fitted with FMX. This trend has recently extended outside of our borders.

The Materials Handling Industry is constantly in a state of flux. It can be a very aggressive market and the successful forklift agents are those that can shift focus into new channels before the rest and then follow through with superior service. For this reason, we have had to ensure that FMX is adaptable in different industries. We do this through constant development and engagement with our customers on their needs. Simply put, if FMX did not do what we say it will and deliver on the return on investment (ROI) we say is there, we would have no customer base. We also understand the rapid changes that can take place in the traditional forklift markets with changes like the push to reduce Health and Safety risks for example. Today we are the primary Forklift Management System suppliers in the industry, a position we hold thanks to the trust in our product and ongoing support of the Materials Handling industry.

Normally we focus very heavily within Warehousing, Logistics, Production and Retail, but we are now exploring new avenues into the Agricultural market. Farmers are astute businessmen, either managing their own farms or through co-operatives. Farming is now highly scientific with every aspect of the harvest and its distribution planned down to the finest detail, including how Forklifts and Tractors are used to optimize operations. There are some highly experimental processes and concepts that are innovative and ?out the box?. This brilliance is not just in their efficiency but in their obvious simplicity. We have found that selling FMX to these people is a breeze as they understand implicitly the benefits that Fuel and Battery Cut Outs and Transmission and Engine Protection give them and they are often a few steps ahead with their questions.

This advanced technical attitude has expanded from the farms into their distribution channels both locally and internationally. It is leading companies in this area that are amongst the first to fit FMX to their fleets and optimize their savings. We can learn so much from Agriculture - this essential component of our economy does not receive half the credit it deserves. The heavy investment in people and equipment is certainly paying off for all of us.

It is innovative, and sometimes ?out the box? thinking that has put Real Telematics at the forefront of the Forklift management and monitoring industry with products like our load count, touch screen display with electronic checklist, weight indication and soon to be released, our onboard, connected, battery monitoring unit.

FMX will be there, no matter your industry, no matter your fleet size, paving the way to operational, maintenance and production savings, all whilst reducing Health and Safety risks.
