Amber Tiles is running a Manitou fleet at its Blacktown distribution centre.

National tile retailer Amber Tiles has selected Koala Forklifts as its long-term materials handling solution provider to maintain its new Manitou forklift fleet at its Blacktown distribution centre.

Pax Kowaliw, Koala Forklifts general manager, says Amber has placed an initial order of 10 units. "However, (this is) due to increase with their growth plans in the coming years.

"We've provided a flexible solution that will enable the fleet to grow with them," he adds.

Amber Tiles previously had a fleet of Toyota forklifts, and the new arrivals are Manitou MI25G models with a mix of container masts and high-reach (5.5m) masts which offer better visibility than the older machines at the distribution centre.

"The warehouse team love them," says Kowaliw.

Originally opened in 1973, Amber Tiles has expanded from its Sydney base to 28 stores around NSW, the ACT and Queensland.

Sydney-based Koala Forklifts, a Manitou and Nichiyu dealer with over 30 years' experience in the materials handling industry, offers sales, rentals, repairs, service and parts.

The value of the order was not disclosed.
