CEVA Logistics has appointed Milton Tadeau Pimenta as managing director of its Australia and New Zealand cluster.
Currently head of contract logistics in South America for the company, Pimenta will take up his position in January 2019, reporting directly to the CEO, Xavier Urbain. He takes over from Carlos Velez Rodriguez, who is leaving CEVA to pursue other career opportunities but who will work with Pimenta to ensure a smooth handover.
Pimenta joined CEVA 17 years ago and is a results-driven, performance-focused team leader with a wealth of experience across both freight management and contract logistics. He has previously lived in both Australia and Asia and has extensive knowledge of the industry there.

Institute of Export and International Trade (IOE&IT).
Ward has over 30 years' experience in international transportation, logistics and supply chain management and has held senior positions with Fritz Companies, P&O Nedlloyd Logistics and DP World London Gateway. He joined UKWA as CEO in 2014.
Established in 1935, the IOE&IT offers a range of services designed to support companies involved in importing, exporting and international trade, while UKWA represents over 700 companies operating in the warehousing and logistics sector.

CHEP has appointed Jake Gilene to the role of senior vice president, sales and customer service, CHEP USA. This position was previously held by Dan Martin, recently named president, IFCO North America.
Gilene will lead a team devoted to positively impacting the industry and customers. He will be responsible for commercial strategy, delivering new products, services and solutions to help customers find more value in their supply chains.
Over the last 12 years, Gilene has served in numerous customer-facing roles at CHEP, including vice president of retail chain solutions and vice president of global business development. Gilene has led teams focused on introducing CHEP's comprehensive capabilities that deliver sustainable value and improved asset productivity. He and his teams have helped customers drive cost out of supply chains, improve efficiencies and create a better shopping experience at the point of sale.

British Industrial Truck Association (BITA), the UK trade association for manufacturers and suppliers of forklifts and associated components and services, has appointed Linde's UK MD, Massimiliano (Max) Sammartano, to its board. It has also announced that two of its stalwart members, Victoria Hutson and Stan Harris, are to step down.
Sammartano took on the position of general manager of the Northern Europe and South Africa region in July 2017, and his appointment to the BITA Board underlines the strong voice BITA has in the running of the UK materials handling sector.
