Millions of workers suffer from MusculoSkeletal Disorders (MSDs) all around the world. If companies are more and more aware of the positive impact of a great health and safety policy, innovation needs to follow this objective.

In charging rooms, there are several risks for the workers, and MSDs are part of them. Everybody who had to disconnect battery connectors at least once knows the struggle it can be.

MSDs are injuries on articulations and tissues mostly occurring on the upper part of the body. Most of the time they are the result of repetitive tasks and are aggravated by the effort. They are the first work related health issue.

Connecting and disconnecting Battery Connectors is a tough duty that requires strength. Moreover, this action uses the body parts that are the most impacted by MSDs: wrists, elbows and shoulders which gather some 98% of the MSDs.

With this statement in mind, the French Battery Connectors Manufacturer Eaxtron designed its new generation of DIN Battery connectors range: the Low Mating Effort.

These DIN 160 amp and 320 amp connectors offer two patented innovations focusing on the health and the safety of the workers and of their equipment. Not only covering MSDs theme, but also electrical oriented matters such as arcing and proper connector mating.

Firstly, the new Vortex Contacts. Those high ended female contacts requires around 80% less effort than standard types of contacts to connect and disconnect.

They include the Vortex Technology, which consists in a copper clip plated with silver with a unique shape offering a wider contacts surface as well as a soft connection. The flexibility of the clip makes it expandable within its sleeve.

Secondly, another highly expected feature is the patented locking device. This system ensures that the contacts are well connected together, while preventing the couple to disconnect in use. This feature answers another request from the market. After thousands of cycles, connectors ' tightness tend to reduce and can accidentally disconnect while the machine is in use.

An unproper mating of contacts can also result in a poor energy transmission, overheating of contacts and possibly arckings.

As a matter of fact, the handle on the female part will lock itself within the collar located on the plug and the audible "click" will confirm the proper connection. Moreover, the only way to disconnect the couple is to pull the handle.

These 100% Made in France Connectors also takes advantage from their Standard version's (with Classic "Barrel" types of contacts) already innovative features: the clip-on contact loader that facilitates the set up of the connectors, the color coded cable clamps to visually differentiate the battery technology of your equipment, flexible handles, and more.
