US dealers wanted for top-selling forklift safety attachments that are proven to slash handling damage.

UK-based Sumo Industrial & Allied Products Marketing Ltd is looking to appoint distributors and agents across the USA to drive further sales of its revolutionary Sumo Glove brand of forklift truck attachments.

Sumo Gloves are fitted to the tips of a lift truck's forks to provide a protective cover that limits the impact of a carelessly driven forklift's forks against a load.

And, by dramatically slashing the damage caused to palletized loads, the Gloves contribute significantly towards a safer workplace.

Sumo Gloves have already been deployed by a number of global companies at numerous sites across the USA with outstanding results.

For example, a large scale manufacturing business that produces doors and windows in multiple locations across the US contacted Sumo when it was experiencing problems at one of its door manufacturing facilities.

The company had a plant-wide issue of doors being damaged by forklift tips at the site where, on average, some 18,000 doors are made each week.

The problem was that whenever a forklift operator moved a pallet of doors, the lift truck's forks extended beyond the carrier pallet and damaged the doors that were stored behind.

Following the introduction of Sumo Gloves to only one of the forklifts that the company uses to handle incoming products, a drastic decline in recorded lift truck door damage was immediate.

Pre-Sumo Glove the company had, on average, been scrapping products with a value of $1,118 per week* as a result of lift truck related damages. Post-Sumo Glove, the average weekly scrap bill was down to $405.** That's a 64 per cent reduction in overall recorded forklift damage at the facility over a 13 week period.

As a result of this clear success, the company now fits Sumo Gloves to lift trucks at a further seven sites.

"Sumo Gloves alone will not solve the damage issue - truck operators must drive more safely and cautiously to realize the true value of the product - but by correcting the poor driving habits of its forklift drivers and reinforcing the safety message, the company is now making huge savings across its business," says Sumo's principal, Simon Ross.

He continues: "I cannot stress how effective these products are in slashing product damage in the warehouse, factory and distribution network while, at the same time, improving the Health and Safety of all those who operate forklifts or work alongside them.

"We are generating great interest in Sumo Gloves from all industrial sectors where dangerous goods are manufactured and shipped but the product is proving particularly attractive to companies operating in the Chemical Industry supply chain.

"We believe it is essential that we are able to service the many potential users of Sumo Gloves from locations around the United States which is why we are going to establish a localized US distributor network. By doing so we will give end users even greater savings as well as the comfort of comfort knowing that they are dealing with a US-based supplier.

"The Sumo sales story is compelling and, because a Sumo Glove user's return on investment is virtually instantaneous, it will enable distributors and individual sales agents to develop and expand their customer list rapidly.

"We firmly believe that our chosen partners stand to make a lot of money by introducing the Sumo Glove lift truck attachment to their product portfolios."

A comprehensive marketing campaign is planned to help Sumo distributors create awareness of the products' unique benefits within the territories in which they operate and full after-sales support will be provided.
