Crane manufacturer ZPMC has ordered 36 YSX45E all-electric Bromma spreaders for the Dubai Port Authority in the United Arab Emirates. It represents the single largest order to date for Bromma's all-electric 45-foot yard crane spreader. The spreaders are to be delivered to Dubai by the end of December.
This order, the price of which was not released, follows another Dubai Port Authority order placed earlier this year for 16 Bromma YTS45, separating twin-lift yard crane spreaders.
Bromma has logged strong orders this year, with the intake at June 30 running at more than 100 per cent above those at June 30, 2003. The company received orders for more than 100 of the spreaders in the second quarter alone.
Second quarter orders included 12 single-lift units from Noell; 13 single-lift units from ZPMC; 10 single-lift units from Tanjung Pelepas; six all-electric units from Mitsui; four all-electric units from Gulf Piping Company; four twin-lift and all-electric units from Liebherr; and four single-lift units from Hyundai.
The Marathon family of spreaders, according to the company, are "designed for customers looking for high-productivity, low-downtime, and low-maintenance" products. The YSX45E single-lift spreaders, ordered for the Dubai Port Authority, are all-electric, eliminating the risk of oil leaks or spills.
Bromma operates manufacturing facilities in Sweden, Malaysia and the USA.
