BP Handling Technologies is a flexible design house capable of proving new machine concepts to minimize new product time to market. BP develops, patents and prototypes special vehicles designed to meet specific customer requirements.

BP Handling Technologies has been pioneering the sideloader market since 1959 and is a well-known leader in design and manufacturing of special material handling vehicles. BP manufactures a wide range of diesel, electric and LPG sideloaders, 4-WAYs and multidirectional forklifts.

Display and controls

During the last six years BP has partnered with other material handling companies and has heavily invested in development and engineering to become a flexible design house and incubator capable of proving new machine concepts to minimize new product time to market. BP developed and prototyped a series of innovative special vehicles dedicated to the application and designed to meet specific customer requirements.

The designs targeted the following main focus areas:

1. the reduction of the total cost of ownership (= product purchase price + operating costs)
2. increased performances (i.e. speed, cost per lift) and,
3. the reduction of the product environmental impact (emissions and noise).

Therefore energy balance optimizing designs have been based upon fully electric or diesel-electric hybrid power, high voltage vectorial controllers and high speed super-capacitors systems derived from the latest automotive technology. BP owns the IP and the software source codes and has been granted certain patents pertaining to such innovations.

The following are six examples of the latest new products and innovations:

35ton electric 4-WAY sideloader

1. Custom designed 35ton electric 4-WAY sideloaders for the Singapore Ministry of Defence ammunition storage underground facility.


2. Heavy duty large capacity sideloaders specified for extreme harsh operating conditions for Chevron Gorgon and Wheatstone Projects


3. Ultra compact airground passengers carrying vehicle operating to Airbus A380 lifting height equipped with a newly patented "fix mast" boom concept to provide reduced dimensions, increased cabin space, automotive suspension comfort and extreme stability to PRM passengers


4. Ultra compact boat storage electric 4-WAY lifter also equipped with a newly patented "fix mast" boom concept and 10 meters long telescopic forks


5. Electric multidirectional man-up picking forklift customized for ATK


6. Newly patented hybrid 10ton handler with double lifting speed, 60% lower fuel consumption and 50% reduced emissions compared to conventional handlers
