Queensland exporter of the year Packer Leather has grown its fleet of Caterpillar DP25N forklifts, continuing the relationship of over 20 years built between the company's principal, Lindsay Packer, and United Forklift and Access Solutions' Queensland manager, Garth Grams.
Grams tells
Forkliftaction.com News that Packer Leather prioritises its relationships with key suppliers, similar to that of its staff and customers.
"Further to their attitude towards key suppliers and the quality of the product, our relationship is based on friendship, mutual respect and mutually sound commercial outcomes."
The company now has four CAT DP25N and one CAT DP30N trucks with hydraulic rotators and lift heights up to 5.5 m.
Grams lists "forklift stability at high lift heights and rotating dynamic loads, robust and dependable drive train, 500-hour service intervals, operator safety features including compliance to the new Safety Standard AS2359.6 2013" as attributes which attracted Packer Leather to the Caterpillar trucks.

The forklifts are important to the production process at Packer Leather, where leather can be moved between four sheds, five work areas and three storage locations. This can mean up to nine separate pallet movements, with each pallet of leather weighing between 500 kg to 1.5 T.
Narangba-based Packer Leather was named Queensland exporter of the year last year and processes kangaroo leather. The family business, established in 1891, sells its products to global brands in the footwear, sports, gloving, fashion and automotive industries.
United Forklift and Access Solutions, formerly known as United Equipment, also represents Konecranes Lift Trucks and Haulotte. Following its merger with Allforks Australian in November 2010, the company is now the Cat Lift Truck distributor for WA, Victoria, NSW and Tasmania.
