new Magnetic Layer Picker was designed to answer the question about how to effectively move full layers of canned goods. Built for industries that handle layered product with steel lids, the Magnetic Layer Picker provides an efficient and cost-effective way to pick up and deposit single layers of a metal product by eliminating manual picking and packing; ideal for creating mixed pallet loads of canned goods that can't otherwise be clamped.
One user reported a dramatic 300% increase in productivity, from 275 to 825 cases per hour.

The steel canned product may be of any variety and the layers may contain many different products. The entire layer can then be transferred to a new pallet to build a multi-layer mixed product pallet. Two layers of shrink-wrapped cans can be handled in some instances, and products such as glass jars with steel lids or plastic pails with steel lids have great potential. No external power is required for the magnets and the maximum layer weight for the standard configuration is 500 lbs (225kg).
